New Years Eve started with a family walk up the 6km track to the Pinnacles Hut (though ‘hut’ doesn’t really do justice to the quality of this accommodation) and a side trip to the 760m Pinnacles Lookout. It ended with a fun night seeing in the New Year with 76 strangers who were sharing the hut with us. Not much sleep, but a great spot to see in the New Year.
It’s amazing what some people are prepared to carry 6km up a steep track! The hut was decorated with fairy lights and balloons; complimented by dress up costumes, wigs and Bluetooth speakers (one of which was of course Anna’s).
