Today we took a break from the ever-growing to-do list and spent some time out at Motuihe Island. A week ago the weather forecasters were promising storms for at least a week. Since then we have enjoyed some glorious autumn weather. I love it when the forecasters are that wrong. Looking at the forecast for Edinburgh weather, we are hoping that the Scottish weather forecasters are as bad as the Kiwi ones. There is lots of rain and some pretty cold temperatures being promised by the Scottish forecasters.

In the last week we have stocked up on winter woollies to keep us warm. Even though we think we’ve had a lousy summer here, we have realised that it could be a whole lot colder that we are used to when we land in Edinburgh. We still can’t wait to get there though and the excitement levels are definitely rising. Anna got her suitcase out today and started to make a pile of stuff to go in it. Matt is not showing the same keenness for packing. He is looking forward to the trip but hates packing bags. He would much rather unpack, so may make another deal with his sister where she packs his bag and he unpacks hers (this was the deal they made for the recent school camps).

Here are a couple of pics of our day on the water.
